What happens if I don't pay IAA? ›

Renege Fee - In the event Buyer fails to pay for a vehicle within seven (7) calendar days inclusive of the day the vehicle is awarded to Buyer, Buyer shall pay IAA a “Renege Fee” equal to $1,000 or 15% of sale price, whichever is greater.

If vehicle is not removed, IAA shall be entitled to charge a storage fee of a minimum of $40 for each day the vehicle remains on IAA's lot.

Stationary. The vehicle will not start, has engine damage, or was not tested upon arrival. The vehicle may not start, drive or move forward at the time of pickup.

Sometimes, Buyers are unable to bid if their membership has expired or their license and documents on file are out of date. Log in and navigate to your profile. Check your User Profile tab, to see if your yearly membership fee has expired.

Most auction houses choose not to pursue complicated, expensive, and time-consuming lawsuits, so failed bid cases rarely end up in court. Instead, unpaid items are usually returned to the original consignor, put into a future auction, or sold privately.

You cannot cancel a bid placed for an auction, but you can lower your maximum bid if the pre-bidding period has not closed and your maximum bid exceeds the current high bid. You cannot cancel a bid or lower your maximum bid at any time during the auction.

Cash/Cash Equivalent

This includes currency, money orders, cashier's checks, certified checks and traveler's checks. Payment for vehicles may be made with cash, and a daily limit of $500 per day, per branch. Cash equivalent payments can be made up to any amount per day per branch.

Yes. Qualified Buyers can pay with a personal credit card through our secure payment system on IAAI.com, in the IAA Buyer App, or in-person at an IAA branch. You can use credit cards to pay for any outstanding balance, including annual membership fees, vehicles, late fees, storage, duplicate titles, and more.

You might pay more or less for a storage unit depending on the unit size, your geographic location, and any amenities such as climate control. Depending on their location, self-storage tenants can expect to pay between $30 a month for a small 5×5 unit, and up to $250 or more for a larger 10×20 or 10×15 unit.

Auction Verification

If a vehicle is able to do so, it will be listed as “Run & Drive Verified”. If the car's engine starts but it is not able to drive, it will be given a “start code.” If the vehicle starts but doesn't run, it will only be listed as “Starts”.

How do I renew my account? How do I renew my account? Your IAA Buyer account can be renewed in various ways. When you opt-in for membership auto-renewal and you have credit card information set up in your IAA account, your $200 annual membership fee will be automatically renewed on the anniversary of your registration.

As a Public Buyer, you do not need a business license. You will be able to bid at facilities that are open to Public Buyers, on vehicles that can be sold to public buyers. Remember, even if a facility is open to the public, it does not mean that all inventory is available to be bid on by the public.

If the lot is not paid in full within 8 calendar days (including the day of sale), the vehicle will be relisted. The Relist Fee will be 10% of the final sale price with a minimum of $600.

In order to request a vehicle that is awarded into your account to be reneged, you must send your request via Email to Buyer Services and list your buyer number, the stock number and the reason why you want to renege the vehicle.
