Medals - Liverpool Shipwreck And Humane Society Marine Medal, 3rd type, silver. Awarded to Mr A.E. Dyer, Third Officer. For Gallant Service At The Wreck Of The S.S. Lima. Feby 1910 together with two miniature Royal Humane Society medals, one in silver, the other in bronze and a pair of binoculars bearing the presentation script `Presented by the Liverpool Shipwreck & Humane Society. To Mr E. Dyer, 3rd Officer of S.S. Lima. For exemplary & gallant conduct in rescuing the passengers of the said vessel, wrecked on the Island of Huamblin, Feby 1910`. FExtract from the Societies 71st Annual Report: `Silver Medal Illuminated Vote of Thanks to the Captain Percy M. Jacobs of the S.S. Lima; Silver Medal, Binoculars and Illuminated Vote of Thanks each to Third Officer E. Dyer and Fourth Engineer Henry Gray; and Silver Medal, Vote of Thanks and £5 each to Boatswain J. McClusky, and A. BsW Martin, J. Cameron and J. Lloyd for exemplary and gallant conduct in rescuing passengers of the Lima, stranded on the Island of Huamblin, on the West Coast of South America, in February (1910)`. The Pacific Steam Navigation Co liner S.S. Lima was launched in 1907. On the 5th February 1910 she ran ashore on Huamblin Island in very rough weather. The S.S. Hatumet saw the Lima`s distress signals and assisted in the rescue of the 205 persons.

MkII & TMk.7 & 8 L.N.P., Navigational Flying Computer, Western Front silk map, charts, gloves, knee pad, three crests etc. These items were formerly the property of Flying Officer Stanley John Kelly who joined 451 Squadron R.A.A.F. where he piloted Harvard and Spitfire circa 1942, after completing his wartime service he returned to Australia shortly but re-joined the Royal Air Force circa 1949 where his pilot logs indicate he piloted amongst other aircraft Meteor, Vampire, Hunter and other aircraft.
