The Acolyte is to begin on Disney+ this week and fans are curious to know all about the cast.

Set 100 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace, a former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes but find out something more sinister is at hand.

Following in the footsteps of The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch, The Acolyte is expected to go down a storm with lifelong Star Wars fans.

Who stars in the Star Wars prequel The Acolyte on Disney+?

Mae - Amandla Stenberg

Mae is a mysterious warrior and a former Jedi Padawan who now walks a dark path with the trailer hinting that she might be one of the forces hunting Jedi in the beginning.

She is portrayed by actress Amandla Stenberg who has been in a number of big franchises, playing Starr Carter in The Hate U Give, Rue in The Hunger Games and Sophie in the 2022 film Bodies Bodies Bodies.

Jedi Master Sol - Lee Jung-Jae

Jedi Master Sol, Mae’s former teacher, is a highly respected member of the Jedi Council who teaches Younglings, a duty that is traditionally associated with Grandmaster Yoda.

In The Acolyte, he appears to be leading the investigation into the murders of other Jedi and comes face-to-face with his former student Mae when it is believed that she is involved.

Actor Lee Jung-Jae has been in Hunt, The Housemaid and New World but is probably best known for portraying Seong Gi-hun in Netflix’s Squid Game.

Vernestra Rwoh - Rebecca Henderson

Vernestra Rwoh is first introduced in Star Wars: The High Republic as a Mirialan Jedi who was a child prodigy, knighted and became a Padawan when she was a teenager.

While The Acolyte is set a hundred years later, Mirialans live long lives and Vernestra is at the height of her power.

Actress Rebecca Henderson starred in Netflix’s Inventing Anna, as well as Russian Doll, Westworld and Werewolves Within but most recently was in Single Drunk Female.

Jecki Lon - Dafne Keen

Actress Dafne Keen made her debut in the film Logan and went on to portray Lyra Silvertongue in BBC’s fantasy series His Dark Materials.

In the Disney+ show, Keen is behind Jecki Lon, Mater Sol’s current Padawan who is described as having heightened maturity with her calm and collected demeanour.

Yord Fandar - Charlie Barnett

Yord Fandar is a Jedi guardian from the temple on Coruscant which means he is in charge of protecting the Order from danger.

He is very strict on himself when it comes to following rules but this may cause more problems than solve them as the investigation into the deaths of Jedis grows more challenging.

Fans will recognise actor Charlie Barnett as Peter Mills, a firefighter and paramedic in the NBC series Chicago Fire for three years.

Kelnacca - Joonas Suotamo

Actor Joonas Suotamo is returning to the Star Wars franchise to play the lovable Chewbacca who was in the sequel trilogy as well as Solo: A Star Wars Story.

This time around, he’ll be able to use his lightsaber as the Wookiee Jedi Kelnacca, although the teaser suggests he is living like a hermit on Kashyyyk, or on another densely forested planet.

Jedi Master Indara - Carrie Anne-Moss

Unlike other Jedi, it appears that Jedi Master Indara operates in isolation so it could be the reason why she is targeted by Mae, with a snippet of an epic fight scene between the pair recently released.

Actress Carrie Anne-Moss’ two most iconic roles have been as Trinity in The Matrix franchise and as Jerri Hogarth in Jessica Jones.
