1. Unmarried couples can book a hotel together

But, you should be aware that there is no law in India that prohibits unmarried couples from booking a hotel room together, if they have valid ID proofs. Article 21 of the Indian Constitution gives unmarried couples the right to privacy and safeguards them from such hotels that might harass them for being unmarried!

There is no such law that prohibits unmarried couples from booking a hotel room in the same city as their residence. As long as you have a valid ID, you’re allowed to book a hotel room in your city, even if you reside in the same city.

No law in India prohibits unmarried couples from wandering and sitting in public, as long as they’re not involved in an obscene activity. You can go to any public place in India. 4. Valid age for checking in any hotel
Even though there is no law that prohibits unmarried couples from booking a room together in hotels, there is a minimum age requirement by the law. You and your partner should be a minimum of 18 years of age while checking in to any hotel. Hotels reserved the rights to cancel your bookings if you’re not able to furnish any valid ID proof supporting your age.
5. Police cannot arrest unmarried couples for being present at a hotel or any public place
As long as you’re not involved in any obscene activity or any illegal activity, police cannot arrest you for being at a hotel or any public place. Having a valid ID proof is enough and you’re not liable to furnish other proofs of showing relation with the person you’re staying with.
However, if you’re found performing any obscene activity in public, police have the right to book you and your partner under Section 294 of IPC which comes with up to 3 months of imprisonment.
